Most asked questions
What is Cruzoo?
Cruzoo is a parent-powered ride-on designed for toddlers ages 2–4. Your child sits on an animal-shaped saddle while you push from behind using an adjustable handle. It's built for daily walks, trail hikes, travel, and anywhere else you go together. It fills the two-year gap when toddlers start resisting the stroller but can't yet walk far.
What age and size is Cruzoo designed for?
Cruzoo is designed for children ages 2–4, up to 50 lbs. Most kids start using it around age 2 when they begin resisting the stroller. You can use it for as long as it works for your family.
Will my kid actually stay on it?
This is the #1 question we get. Kids who fight strollers love Cruzoo because it doesn't feel like confinement. It feels like an adventure. They're riding an animal, not strapped into a seat. The low saddle height feels safe and stable. We've also put together engagement tips, games, and imagination prompts (accessible via QR code in the box) to keep them happily riding for miles.
Why are there different animals?
We currently offer three animals: the Bounding Bear, the Dashing Dog, and the Loyal Lion. They're the same product with different animal heads and color schemes. Pick your toddler's favorite. All three have identical specs, performance, and pricing.
How is Cruzoo different from a stroller?
Strollers confine toddlers with buckles and canopies, which is why most 2–3 year olds start fighting them. Cruzoo is open, engaging, and feels like a ride rather than a restraint. It also handles terrain that strollers can't: rough trails, packed sand, curbs, and steps. And at under 9 lbs with a folding handle, it's far more portable than most strollers.
How is Cruzoo different from a wagon?
Wagons are heavy (most are 20+ lbs empty), bulky to transport, and can't handle trails or stairs. Toddlers also tend to want to constantly climb in and out, which slows everything down. Cruzoo weighs under 9 lbs, the handle folds to easily fit in your trunk, and the single-wheel design handles terrain that wagons can't. Kids stay more engaged because they're riding an animal, not sitting in a box.
Does Cruzoo have a seatbelt or harness?
Cruzoo does not have a seatbelt. The saddle sits low to the ground and the child holds on naturally, similar to riding a rocking horse or hobby horse. Sturdy handlebars and footrests keep kids planted. And unlike a balance bike, you're always in control of the stability, so your child stays upright and steady. Cruzoo is parent-powered, meaning you control the speed and direction at all times.
Terrain and performance
What terrain can Cruzoo handle?
The 12-inch wheel handles rough trails, packed sand, gravel, wet grass, sidewalks, boardwalks, curbs, and steps. It goes where strollers and wagons can't. The single-wheel design makes uneven terrain easier because you're not fighting to keep multiple wheels level.
Can I use it on the beach?
Yes. Cruzoo is great for long walks along the waterline and for getting to and from the parking lot when little legs are already dragging. It handles packed and wet sand well. Deep, dry sand is harder to push through, just as it would be with any wheeled product. If you use Cruzoo at the beach, we recommend hosing it off afterward to rinse sand from the wheel axle and salt from the metal parts, which helps prevent rust over time.
Can it go up and down stairs?
Cruzoo handles curbs and a few steps comfortably, like the kind you'd find at a park entrance or sidewalk transition. While it can handle a longer flight of stairs, it's usually easier to just carry it (at under 9 lbs, you can grab it with one hand).
Does the tire go flat?
No. Cruzoo uses a 12-inch polyurethane foam tire that never needs air. No pump, no maintenance, no flats. It provides a smooth, cushioned ride while being completely maintenance-free.
How does the single wheel stay balanced?
The parent handle provides the balance, just like pushing a wheelbarrow. You're always in contact with the handle, so balance is natural and intuitive. Most parents say it feels surprisingly easy within the first 30 seconds of use.
Transport and travel
How does the handle fold?
The push-button handle folds down in a few seconds. When folded, the handle acts as a kickstand, allowing Cruzoo to stand upright and out of the way at a park, cafe, or anywhere you stop along the way.
Will it fit in my car?
With the handle folded, Cruzoo is 30 x 15 x 22 inches. It fits in the trunk of a sedan, the cargo area of an SUV, and even behind a seat in most vehicles. For reference, it's smaller than most folded strollers.
Can I take it on a plane?
Yes. Unscrew the hand knob under the saddle (no tools needed) and Cruzoo comes apart into two pieces, the animal saddle and the push handle, that both fit in the overhead bin. Your toddler can ride it right up to the gate, and at under 9 lbs, it’s easy to carry on board.
Can I pack it in checked luggage?
Yes. Without any tools, you can remove the the child handlebars, and the entire parent handle assembly for compact packing. The disassembled parts fit into a large suitcase or duffel bag for checked luggage.

How much assembly is required?
Most parents have Cruzoo assembled in about 15 minutes. The one tool you need is included in the box, along with a printed step-by-step guide. Prefer video? Watch the assembly walkthrough.
How do I clean Cruzoo?
You can hose off the entire product or wipe it down with a damp cloth. If you've taken Cruzoo to the beach, give it a thorough rinse to clear sand from the wheel axle and salt from the metal parts. This helps prevent rust and keeps everything rolling smoothly.
What if a part gets lost or damaged?
Cruzoo comes with a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. If something breaks during normal use or if a part goes missing, please contact us.
Is Cruzoo a good gift?
It's one of the most-used gifts you can give a family with a toddler. Parents tell us Cruzoo gets used many times a week for walks, hikes, errands, and travel. Available in three animals for ages 2-4, Cruzoo will get them mobile again.
Is it safe?
Cruzoo is parent-powered, meaning you control the speed and direction at all times. The saddle sits low to the ground, and the whole product weighs under 9 lbs. Cruzoo has been independently tested by a CPSC-accepted lab to meet or exceed all applicable U.S. safety standards, including CPSIA and ASTM. If running or going on hazardous terrain, please put a helmet on your child.
